HemisFair 1968: San Antonio's introduction to the World UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures celebrates 40 years with retrospective exhibit
Event: Following the city's commemoration of HemisFair, city officials, HemisFair executive committee members and colorful, costumed participants will parade through HemisFair Park to a ribbon cutting at UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures, opening a year-long exhibit reflecting on the event that put San Antonio on the world stage.
UTSA President Ricardo Romo and a cast of costumed Texas Folklife Festival ambassadors will welcome guests to the museum, recapturing some of the spirit of the original HemisFair celebration.
Sunday, Apr. 6th @ 2:15 p.m. ceremony, followed by reception. Museum remains open to 5 p.m. UTSA’s Institute of Texan Cultures (Main entrance bridge) 801 S. Bowie St. (at Durango)
Admission: Museum admission is free on Apr. 6th.
