The University of the Incarnate Word will hold their 2008 Cutting Edge Fashion Show, an official Fiesta event, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 21st, at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel, located at 101 Bowie Street, San Antonio, Texas. The Cutting Edge has grown in popularity each year and with an audience of more than 800 expected, a venue change to the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel was necessary. The 2008 event will mark the 28th anniversary of showcasing the rising stars of the fashion industry.
The show will feature student designers who produce fashion collections they have illustrated, designed and constructed this season in a fashion capstone course. The collection is centered on an individual theme selected by the student and can range from a season, to a color or market segment.
The annual fashion event is entirely produced by students. From sound and lighting to staging and contracting professional models, UIW students experience every aspect of planning a professional runway show.
Tickets to the event include a runway style fashion show, silent auction and luncheon. Tables of 10 are available for $1,500 (premier runway seating), $1,000 (second row), $750 (third and fourth row), and individual seats may be purchased for $75 each.
For ticket information, call 210.829.6072. Proceeds fund student scholarships.
