Spring Break on the Back 40 welcomes visitors to the interpretive learning area at UTSA’s Institute of Texan Cultures. Costumed Texas Characters and docents bring the frontier days of Texas to life as they demonstrate the activities associated with each of the period buildings.

Admission: $7 adults $4 children (3-12), seniors (65+)

Background: Activities include schoolyard games (all week), making braid dolls, doing the laundry with an old washtub and washboard and planting seeds in the spring garden (Tue.); roping and making pioneer toys (Wed.); making “papel picado,” paper flowers and other Spanish-style crafts (Thurs.) and mapping and flag etiquette (Fri.). Bring the entire family and your friends and join us for the fun!
Spring Break on the Back 40 is included in regular admission. Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, noon - 5 p.m. Sunday, closed Monday.
