L-R: Monitor covering the meeting, pro-crowd, anti-crowd, VIA Headquarters
Pro-Toll Road & Anti Toll Road supporters packed the VIA Headquarters on San Pedro for five hours, Monday, December 3rd as citizens lobbied for and against the MPO approving the toll road construction on Hwy 281.
Contentious at times and some disgruntled mild verbal attacks from the anti Toll Road suporters on the MPO Chair erupted sporadically throughout the long and tedious process.
The vote was 12-4 for approving the measure. The four nay voters included: Bexar County Commissioners Lyle Larsen & Tommy Adkisson, State Rep. David Leibowitz, & State Senator Carlos Uresti.
Councilwomen Sheila McNeil & Diane Cibrian & Commissioner Chico Rodriguez voted to approve while Councilmen Justin Rodriguez did not attend.
