The UTSA Research Team of five undergraduate students, UTSA sea-ice expert Stephen Ackley and Boerne High School Teacher Sarah Anderson are back from their two-month trip to Antarctica. The trip was more then they were expecting, a fire on board the ship knocked out communications systems for a few days forcing the ship to regroup and return to Chile.

After rearranging their schedule, they headed back to Antarctica and braved hurricane force winds in sub-zero temperatures. Despite the setbacks, they were able to gather data and conduct samplings on their expedition.

While they are still recovering, they would be happy to share their story. For those unaware of their exploration, here is a link to a previous news release promoting the trip.
