Reception to honor three students who beautify our world

L-R: Frank T. Lopez, Ryan Orosco, Elliot Rouse

During the summer of 2004, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) brought students to artistically tile the supports of IH-35 in front of the Finesilver Building, along the San Pedro Creek, near the 800 block of N. Flores. This Saturday, October 27th, a reception will recognize the work of those students who are working to beautify our world in a positive manner.

Saturday, October 27th at 3:30 p.m. at the Finesilver Building under IH-35 along the 800 block of N. Flores.

Remembering ....Texas Roots
College students from around the nation participated in a public art competition in San Antonio, July 7-10, 2004. CSI hosted fourteen student teams representing ten different universities from three different states and backgrounds mirroring the diversity of Texas.

Students designed unique ceramic tile murals, each symbolizing where they came from and how their cultures were connected with the San Antonio region.

This mosaic reminds us of the deeply rooted history of the San Antonio region, from its Native American heritage to its many religious and civic developments. In truth, our roots are buried here.
