Gallery Bound off the streets & into the Galleries

Hello Friends of The LoneStar Studios,

Thank you to all of you who made it out to the SMART Fair on October 13th. Also, a thank you goes out to all of the artists, musicians, and everyone else who donated their time and talents. Our first annual event was a great success. Congratulations Andy and Yvette!

Well November is fast approaching and it is time for an art event update.

November's
Second Saturday is on the 10th and we have a very special event planned. The Gallery Bound Program will be hosting their first annual art auction and bar be que.

The Gallery Bound Program is an anti-graffiti education program that pairs up middle and high school students with prominent local artists; who mentor and teach the students to focus their creative abilities into gallery quality art pieces. We will be taking the art off the streets and into the galleries. Come on out and enjoy live music, food, and excellent art. Of course the Fl!ght Gallery,
One9zero6, and Gallista will be open and hosting new art shows.

On Tuesday November 13th, All you D.C. punk fans are in for a great show. The Fl!ght Gallery will host a concert by Ian Mackay's (Frontman for
Fugazi and Minor Threat) and Amy Farina's (The Warmers) newest endevour The Evens. Doors open at 8:00 and it is only $5.

Then in December we have First Friday and Second Saturday back to back again. The LoneStar Studios is pleased to host the UTSA Fine Arts Association's Fall Art Show on both nights. First Friday, December 7th, Opening with special guest
Morris Orchids providing the live music. Opening begins at 8 p.m. Then Second Saturday, December 8th, we have "A Conscious Effort" and "Die Cast Rabbit" dispensing electronic melodiousness and sample driven vibrations with reckless abandon.

Well, that's it for right now. I will keep everyone posted as soon as new events and openings come up.

The Gallery Bound Program is sponsored by the City of San Antonio's Cultural Affairs office and Blue Star Contemporary Art Center. This program was created and coordinated by the office of Councilwoman Delicia Herrera.
