The Defend the Honor - San Antonio Coalition calls for boycott, protest, march, and rally against the viewing of the Ken Burns' documentary "The War," Saturday September 22nd, 10 a.m. at 501 Broadway. (KLRN Studios)

Those who are able to march will meet at the VFW Post #76 located at Tenth Street at 9:30 a.m. and will march 1 1/2 blocks east on Tenth to Broadway and then will turn right on Broadway and march 7 - 8 blocks south to the KLRN offices located at 501 Broadway.

The Ken Burns documentary "The War" is a 14-hour documentary recounting the lives of Americans during World War II and is scheduled to air September 23rd, on PBS/KLRN. Burns took several years to make this film and did not include the contributions of Latinos until he felt intense pressure from the Latino community. "The War" was partially funded with taxpayer dollars.

PBS Ken Burns has a history of ignoring Latino contributions to US history and has excluded us from his other films including: "The Civil War", "Baseball", and "Jazz."In January PBS announced that it has extended its relationship with Ken Burns until 2022.

The Defend the Honor Coalition is holding protests in cities all across the nation including LA, San Francisco Bay Area & Austin. If you want to help: Bring ready-made signs. Bring the names and service (eg. Joaquin Arambula, US Army) of family members who fought and/or died in WWII to the rally and give to an organizer.

We will take a moment to read as many names as possible during the allotted time frame.City of SA Rules: No blocking traffic. No posting of fliers on private property such as walls, buildings, doors. No posting of fliers on city property, lamp posts, stop signs etc. We do not need a permit.
