The San Antonio Area Sky Soldiers International Association, 173rd Airborne Brigade will host a baby shower for Army Private First Class Christopher Pfeifer and wife, Karen, Saturday, September 22nd at the Drop Zone Café & Bar Patio, 1804 Carson Street from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
Pfeifer, severely wounded in Afghanistan, is currently in surgical intensive care at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston.
According to participant and former Army Special Forces Commander in Viet Nam, Larry Ricketts, “the 173rd is known for taking care of its own. This is just one more example of how paratroopers help each other.”
Another participant, Viet Nam Veteran Steve Walker points out that Area Sky Soldiers representative, Frank Martinez is correct when he says the 173rd is proud of its members who stand up and help fellow soldiers in time of crisis.
Those wishing to make donations and baby gifts are encouraged to drop them off at the Drop Zone before or during the event. Pfeifer’s baby girl is due September 28th.
Finger foods and snacks will be available, along with beer and soft drinks.
For more information, call: 212-7000.
