Jacob Dell Plans to Win District 8 City Council Race in May

San Antonio, TX – March 1, 2007 – Jacob Dell, a Special Projects Accountant at Valero Energy Corporation, announced his candidacy for the District 8 City Council seat at his home on February 17, 2007. In addition to his role at Valero Energy Corporation, Dell is an Adjunct Professor in the Management Science and Statistics Department at University of Texas – San Antonio. He and his wife Rachel also own Toddling Town, a childcare facility opening soon in District 8.

Dell’s membership on the Valero Volunteer Council prompted his decision to run for City Council. “My participation in Valero’s volunteer program allows me to experience first hand the positive impact volunteerism has on the community,” he stated. “I feel strongly that I will bring that same energy to City Council and make important changes in our community.”

A primary focus of Dell’s campaign will be the need to increase emergency services protection in District 8. Dell stated that the numbers of Police, Fire, and EMS personnel should increase in proportion to the city’s growth in population. “In the past, emergency services have remained stagnant while our district has grown rapidly. This will be the first solution I will implement when elected,” he declared. Dell’s campaign will also focus on promoting economic development and improving and increasing recreational areas for the city. To learn more about Dell’s platform visit
