A large crowd turned out for the 3rd Annual Cesar E. Chavez and Educational Foundation, Saturday, March 24th at Pico de Gallo Mexican Restaurant, 111 S. Presa.
Other Chavez events to be held for the next week include: Cesar E. Chavez Interfaith Celebration at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1321 El Paso Street at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24th, and Cesar E. Chavez Memorial Service at San Fernando Cathedral, Sunday, March 25th at 8 a.m.
A Labor Tribute to the Legacy of Cesar E. Chavez will be held Tuesday, March 27th at 10:45 a.m. at the Samuel Gompers Memorial Statue. (in front of Henry B. Gonzalez Center)
A City Council Proclamation will be presented at 1:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at 114 W. Commerce, Thursday. March 29th. A press conference & Recpetion for Rita-Chavez Medina will be held at 2:15 p.m. in the San Fernando Cathedral Annex that same day, Thursday, March 29th.
A Cesar E. Chavez Scholarship Awards Dinner will be held Friday, from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at the La Villita Assembly Hall, 401 Villita for $50 per person or table of 10 for $500. KWEX-41 Anchorman Antonio Guillen will recognize local scholarship recipients, while Entertainer Johnny Canales will serve as MC.
The 11th Annual Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice will be begin at 11 a.m. at the Avenida Guadalupe, 1321 El Paso Saturday, March 31st at 11 a.m.
