Joe Farias
The Texas Democratic Veterans enthusiastically endorse Joe Farias for election as the State Representative for District 118. A lifelong resident of House District 118, Joe Farias has an outstanding record of achievement serving his community and our country.

After graduating from McCollum High School, Joe volunteered for the US Army in 1968 and served three years in Vietnam and Berlin, Germany. Joe learned the values of loyalty, integrity, and service. Joe is the best-qualified candidate with his years of service on the Harlandale School Board.

Joe has visited numerous Veteran Service Organizations in the District 118 area such as American Legion and the VFW Posts listening to the Veterans and family members with their issues and concerns.

Joe has agreed to support the Hazelwood Legacy Act where if passed next legislative session, it will help many of the children of Texas Veterans received educational benefits from our State Public universities and colleges.

Joaquin Castro
The Texas Democratic Veterans whole-heartedly endorse Joaquin Castro for re-election as the State Representative for District 125. Representative Castro has truly been an advocate for Texas Veterans as his door is always been open for our concerns and issues.

He has always been proactive visiting Veteran Service Organizations such as the San Antonio American Legion Post #2 listening to the Veterans and family members talking about ways to enhance our wellness.

For example, Joaquin has agreed to support the Hazelwood Legacy Act where if passed next legislative session this will help many of the children of Texas Veterans received educational benefits from our State Public universities and colleges.

Larry Stallings
The Texas Democratic Veterans sincerely endorse Larry Stallings for election as the State Representative for District 122. Larry is a Vietnam era and Gulf War Combat Veteran with 30 years of military service and more than 2 dozen medals and citations including the Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. Larry has diverse and very successful business and management experience in the public and private sector.

Larry is a strong support of many Veteran Service Organizations in the District 122 area. He has his ear to the ground and listens to our issues and concerns. Larry has agreed to support the Hazelwood Legacy Act where if passed next legislative session this will help many of the children of Texas Veterans received educational benefits from our State Public universities and colleges.

We do commend his opponent for his military service to our country. What we do not understand why he voted yes on the Trans-Texas Corridor, a huge boondoggle for foreign contractors. We do not understand why in 2005 with his influence in the State House, why he let the Hazelwood Legacy Act bill die in the House Calendars Committee thus depriving some children of Texas Veterans potential educational benefits.

Larry will ensure we get quality federal and state veteran benefits. We respectfully ask you to support Larry Stallings.

  1. Why did it take this long for the endorsements to come? Farias, for instance, is a veteran and a democrat. That sounds like a no-brainer for a group called Texas Democratic Veterans. I guess they weren't actually very enthusiastic about it.
